Established 2004 in the area previously known as South Kingscliff, the Salt Surf Life Saving Club at Salt Village is one of the newest surf clubs in Australia.
Salt SLSC is committed to making Salt and Casuarina beach area one of the safest on the New Tweed Coast. Our volunteers patrol at Salt/Casuarina Beach on weekends and Public Holidays during the season. The patrol season runs from September through until April the following year, ensuring that the beach is kept safe for residents and visitors. Our patrol services are supplemented by the Australian Lifeguard Service during the NSW school holidays, who provide additional patrol coverage during those weekdays.
Salt SLSC is a strong and vibrant club that prides itself on patrol standards, surf education and junior training. The Salt/Casuarina nipper program, which was introduced in 2006, is developing into a highly efficient training environment, with coaching expertise being acquired from Australia wide as more people make the Tweed Coast and Salt SLSC their home. Our nipper numbers are always expanding as word spreads about the high quality training, safety and friendly environment provided at Salt SLSC.
The club is also committed to the local community and our family friendly environment is a great strength. The club regularly hosts various formal and informal social functions through the year for members, supporters and local residents. Without the support of the local community the club would not be able to continue its development, and we must thank everyone who gives up their time to ensure we can all enjoy the benefits of having a patrolled beach at Salt and Casuarina.
With a membership base spread right along the Tweed Coast and as far away as Brisbane, you will find Salt SLSC is a great place to be. Come and join us and help build something special.
